How the red row is priced
The red row prices my own consumption: a US average CO2e footprint for each year since 2014, plus a 10 percent margin I add on the assumption that I consume more than the average American, valued at the same social cost of carbon the ledger applies to avoided emissions.
This chart and the Gross / Net switch on the stat strips are the only places on the site where the footprint meets the portfolio; every other total keeps them apart, and the methodology page states the rule.
The red bar is real but small: $71.7K of consumption against $93.5M of recorded value, so it draws at the minimum visible width.
The per-venture rows use a square-root axis, so the small ventures stay visible next to Denver Food Rescue.

Project
Durango Solar System Project
The solar system at a scale of one to 670 million, built as public art along six miles of the Animas River Trail. An 8-foot sun sets the scale, and nine local artists made the planets in glass, metal, and recycled plastic. Pluto would have landed out in Three Springs, so it stayed off the list. Durango's lodgers tax paid for it, and I have led the project since 2023.
